Our Western Maple Live Edge tables and counters have the bark of the tree removed letting the natural edge of the log dictate the piece. Each piece has a unique character including surface checking and natural cracks. Western (Big Leaf) maple originates in the Western United States along the Pacific coast. The wood varies from reddish white, sometimes with a grayish cast, to a light pinkish-brown. Much-the wood is straight grained but may include figuring such as wavy, quilted, fiddle-back or birds-eye grain patterns. The live edge can be mounted up or down, (please specify when ordering, default is live edge up). Tops are made to order with planks 4"-8" wide depending on table dimensions.
