Western Maple Side Grain
Western Maple Side Grain, (edge grain style) wood tables and counter tops are built with parallel strips varying in width, typically 3/4" to 1-1/4". Side grain construction makes a hard and stable surface ideal for tables and counters. Western maple is native to the Pacific NW. The wood varies from reddish white, sometimes with a grayish cast, to a light pinkish-brown. Much of the wood is straight grained but can include figuring such as wavy, quilted, fiddle-back or birds-eye grain patterns. Our tops are made to order with curving and shaping available upon request. Staggered joints may be included for tops longer than 8'.
